  1. Great Britain consists of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

  2. give  em a break for chrissake. should we exclude the isle of man or guernsey?  jersey? let them be with us.  they are all part of  great britain.  lets have them with us, the english. dont be so petty. we are all in it together. even the lovely scots.

  3. Interesting point.

Technically it should be either "Team GB  and NI" or "Team UK."

Every time my mother heard  a reference to "Team GB" she swore.

"What a load of ******** , who invented that? When did we stop being Great Britain and Northern Ireland"

If I had a penny for every time she´s said that in the past two weeks.....................lol

  4. What's the difference?

  5. You are quite right, strictly speaking they should be called team uk as northern irish athletes compete for gb, maybe gerry adams can lodge a complaint with the ioc and get all the gb medals taken away, that would spice it up a bit.

  6. It should always have been called team UK not team GB as from the outset our team was made up of Scotland,England,Ireland and Wales it seems that the media started calling it team GB and then it was too late to change it.

  7. I know that's what I was saying  Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain AND Northern Ireland (UK) not just "Great Britain".
