Google was the inspiration for Yahoo! Answers.  With google you had to put down a price you were willing to pay to receive your answer (I think the minimum price was like $1) so the answers were researched by experts in whatever field.  Once Yahoo! started with the free thing everyone came over here, but obviously you get a lot less quality answers.  Not always, but often.  Anyways, I'd rather have the free option..
