My ming aralia has about six trunks and two of them at the top have a black flaky coating, it almost looks like it was in a fire, but she seems okay otherwise except she has a lot of yellow leaves every now and then. My other question is, is it okay to move her every night into the bathroom since i put the ac on at night. I guess i am not sure what is worse leaving her in her spot (not near a vent but still cold) or moving her into a very climate, not sure if the daily move is disturbing

  1. It sounds like you have what is called sooty mold.

This is caused by insect excrement from aphids or scales.  Try using an insecticide to control the insects first...the sooty mold itself is not the big problem.
