  1. Here are a couple links that should help you find breeders in Alabama:

    http://www.angel-litemaltese.com/

    http://puppydogweb.com/kennels/maltese_b...

However, just so you know, there is no such thing as a 'tea cup' maltese. That was a term made up by irresponsible breeders, puppy mills and pet stores. Since the standard for the maltese is 4 to 6 lbs, breeding them to a supposed 'tea cup' size by breeding two small maltese together is quite dangerous and can result in a lot of health risks for the puppies. Also, maltese are generally expensive dogs. You will not find a good quality maltese for less than $1000, so I doubt anyone would be giving it away. If you want a dog for a small amount, I would suggest visiting your local pet shelter or adoption agency. There are also a number of Maltese rescue agencies that you might find useful.

  2. There is no such a thing as a "teacup" anything unless you're referring to what's on sale at the Royal Doulton store. STAY AWAY from any "breeder" selling these undersized, overpriced, sickly runts. Only backyard breeders and puppy millers breed them; when a undersized dog is born in a responsibly bred litter is sold on a spay/neuter contact.

Here's what "teacup" "breeders" contribute to:

This info applies to all breeds:

I would highly recommend that you go the rescue route, or the responsible breeder route. The adoption fee includes everything that you would need to pay for a dog elsewhere, but at a much lower cost. Although a pup from a responsible breeder might seem "costly" to you, they're a lot less of what it would cost to take care of a short lived, sickly runt. Here is where you can get a happy, healthy dog:

    Your local animal shelters

If you are interested in a dog but live too far away from it, there is the option of having one transported closer to you/nearer to you. Google "dog rescue transportation."
