Does anyone knows of any books that have a similar story/plot to the CBS show Moonlight?

I'm really, really, REALLY into the CBS show Moonlight and I would love to read any books with a similar story line. The show has ended and there's no 2nd season sadly...SO I'd really appreciate it if any of you would be willing to help me out on finding a perfect book to read!

Hey, I'm a fan of Moonlight too - I still can't believe those morons at CBS cancelled the show!! >:(

You might like Tanya Huff's Blood Books - it's a series of five books about an ex-cop Private Investigator who meets a 450 year old vampire with an interesting history.  

The first book in the series is called 'Blood Price' and the second is called 'Blood Trail' and you can buy both together in an omnibus edition from Amazon.

The books were made into a series called 'Blood Ties' which aired on Lifetime last season - just before Moonlight aired.  But unfortunately, like Moonlight, Blood Ties was cancelled after only one season - but it's still worth watching. I don't think it's available on DVD yet in the US but it's available on Region 2 in the UK or you can watch it online.

You might also like the Sookie Stackhouse series of books by Charlaine Harris.  There are eight books in the series and they're about a waitress in Louisiana who meets a vampire who is a couple of centuries older than her.  The first book in the series is called 'Dead Until Dark'.  It's not as much like Moonlight as Blood Ties but they're still good.  Blood Ties is more action with a bit of romance whereas the Sookie Stackhouse books are more romance with a bit of action.  They're available on Amazon too. These books have also been made into a drama series - it's called True Blood and it's due to start airing on HBO on 7 September.
