  1. The term "partner" is what Starbucks calls all of its employees, no matter your title or status.

    An actual Barista is the title given to those that make the coffee drinks and serve the customers. So it is possible to be both.

  2. Partner is how they call an employee.

    Barista is the one who makes the drinks.

    barista means "bartender" so since everyone is trained to make drinks, all the partners are baristias...

    there is really no difference.  "partner" is just another word for employee ...
