I have always wanted to build my own website and although I am very fond of computing never had the chance or the knowledge how this is done. So I would appreciate any help.

  1. There are many sites dedicated to teaching how to write HTML pages.

This is a good stepping stone to more difficult things, such as CSS style sheets and ASP pages.

Give it a try... I have made some websites from learning on my own..

Once you have HTML and tables finished, look up CSS style sheets.  They are amazing.  :)

    Try http://www.htmlclinic.com/

This site taught me all that I know.

    Also try http://dynamicdrive.com/

They have some neat things you can simply copy-paste into your site if you want them to make the complicated things for you (mouse effects, pop-out menus)

  2. These are by far the best tutorials on building a website:

    http://www.w3schools.com

    http://www.tizag.com

    http://www.htmlcodetutorial.com

I learned almost everything I know just from these three sites, W3Schools in particular.

It also helps to take a look at some Youtube videos:

Good luck! I know you can do it :D

  3. Easiest way to create a free professional website is with Microsoft Office Live Small Business - http://tinyurl.com/olsbfree . It has 500mb of storage and no ads. It has a free online web design tool that allows you to create web pages without coding. Currently, MS is offering a free domain name for the first year.

  5. Try Blink Web or Weebly, their easy to manage free website (or blog) has cool features that include drag and drop capability, switch designs on the fly, youtube and google video, custom html, upload images, flikr photo gallery, visitor stats and more.  You can also buy a new domain instantly, or host your existing domain for free and make it your own (www.yourown.com)

If your looking for something more advanced but still user friendly then try Easy Site Build or Sitebuilder Designs, they have everything you need in building your own website: domain name registration or domain transfer, web hosting, web builder, site maintenance and email accounts. Everything is laid out in an easy to follow step by step instruction. Some of the features included enable you to add your own themes, videos, images or mp3 music making your site unique to you. Pricing is comparable and affordable too.

I hope that I was of some help and answered your question.

  7. There are many.  First decide what kind of website you want.  If it's a blog, just search for "Blogging", and go from there.

Or do searches for "free web hosting", "HTML tutorial", and "Building a website" to start with.

  8. http://www.eazysolutionz.com

    they have everything you need

  9. The best one for an absolute beginner is www.mrsite.com. they will charge you £35 for a year's access however for that you get alot of good (proper) templates and all the complicated stuff like guest books and forums are created for you all you will be doing is clicking around and everything else is done for you really.

    hope that helps !

  10. You'll need some software like dramweaver if you wanna start webdesign. You can get this free on www.piratebay.org but don't tell anyone I told you! Also you'll need to brush up on your HTML coding which you can get here http://webdesign.about.com/c/ec/9.htm.

  11. www.freewebs.com
