Im from spanish descent so I like the name Diego, it's a common spanish name. In portugues it's spelled Diogo.

But now I think  it's associated with Dora and Diego-as in Dora the explorer and her cousin Diego... so if you're looking for a spanish name... how about Santiago?

It's similar but at the same time is compeltely different.
