  1. I use to work there. Nothing special. The people are kind of rude but not as bad as people in Beverly. It sucks to be there just before halloween because of the traffic, it is hard to get out of the city.

What is good is the historical sites and museums and it's near the ocean

  2. I lived there for a few months while looking for a few months while my condo was being renovated. It is nice, and quite. It can be a little boring though, theres nothing there at all. But it is a nice town.

  3. No, t h e r e ' s nothing to do  t h e r e  but fight off British soldiers trying to steal  t h e r e  tea,and  t h e r e are witches and warlocks wandering around the neighborhood looking for small children to put into  t h e i r  stews.

  4. I live in Salem and love it.  I moved in a few years back and found out that your outlook of what Salem has to offer depends greatly on where you live in town.  People who live on the outskirts or over by SSC can feel as if they are living in rural Maine while people who live in or near down town feel like they are living in a Boston neighborhood.

I would suggest looking at down town, the wharf, the common or even the McInitire district neighborhoods.  All are close to plenty of restaurants, bars, public transportation, shops, museums, and other amenities. Salem even scored a 98 on the walkability score http://www.thesaleminsider.com/2007/11/1...

Like any place you choose to live  you will get out of it what you put in to it.  Feel free to read more about Salem and what is going on there at TheSalemInsider.com

  5. Night Life slow, real estate decent, a recent glut of condo construction, will help the buyer. Schools are renovated and good as any, traffic torturous at times. Highly reccomend Juniper Point or Palmers Cove as the best neighborhoods. The worst neighborhood in Salem is really hard to put down as bad neighborhoods go and is called "the point" located between downtown and the College (which is a dump itself)
