Question:

Does anyone live in the Anthem Arizona Golf Subdivision?

I'm thinking of relocating to Anthem Arizona and moving into the golf subdivision. I'm wanting to know if anyone lives there and if they can share with me their experiences good and bad about the community. I'm looking for a relatively quiet and safe place for my family and the homes in the golf subdivision are big enough and have some great views with bigger lots. I'm mainly concerned with safety, does it seem more/less safe in the golf subdivision with the guarded entry? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

  1. consider a better place, with less hassle; Black Canyon City,

12 miles north.  OUR family has family that lives there.

    Quiet, almost hidden.  SAFE.

    Less expensive

  3. There is a 2nd Anthem being built southeast of Phoenix.  There was a newspaper article about the first couple to move in.  Wonderful views and peaceful nights.  But they have a long commute to anywhere and anything.  But the houses are new and the area very safe.  No bad guys live anywhere near.

THe earlier Anthem is north of Phoenix on the way to Black Canyon City.  Very pretty.  Very safe. Few bad guys living anywhere nearby. It was just carved out of the desert and sold out in months.  The problem is that 80% of the houses were sold to investors.  Those investors made a lot of money as the values almost doubled.  Now it's a problem because Anthem has lots of vacant houses and vacant houses attract trouble.  Houses are being broken into and stripped ... the drug users sell the copper for cash.

I would recommend that you also check out the newer Sun City developments,  also Sun Lakes in Chandler,  and The Provinces in the town of Maricopa.  Live gate guard and prices have gone down $120,000 in the last 6 months.  The builder declared bankruptcy and the clubhouse has no funding.  It might be a "steal" at the current prices./
