  1. They are as bad as L*****n s*x. You might as well admit to it and move on.

It is so naughty, so bad, but is so enjoyable. You should definitely spend your twenties, if your turned on. It's worth it.

  2. Buying from local growers you can see the farming standards is better. I live in a rural area, and there are huge farms here. If you see fields that have no weeds in them, and the dirt is really chalky looking, there are tons of pesticides and herbicides on it.

The safest thing you can do is grow your own food, or buy organic. The next best thing is to buy food that is in season where you live. A couple generations ago, people only ate strawberries in June and July, and they canned or made jams with the bounty for winter. If you live in the midwest, and you buy strawberries in February, they are probably grown in Central America, California or Florida, then trucked across the country. The sheer waste of the energy is reason enough to go back in time a little and have a pantry room in the basement to store things like squash, potatoes, carrots, apples, pears, and such for winter consumption, eat what is in season nearby, or purchase things that are grown hydroponically in your area.

If you have even a 10 by 10 foot spot you can garden in, you can grow quite a bit of the food you will eat. Buy your eggs and milk from local farmers. (Look at the cartons to see where they come from. You may be amazed how far stuff travels.)
