  1. If you can't do your own homework, then how will you know if I've answered it correctly?

    1.  Virgo, 17

    2.  When it passes behind Mercury.  March 13, 2011

    3.  Mercury, 525 degrees in the day.

    4.  Alpha Centuri.

    5.  1/4.

Now the question is, how many of those did I make up?

  2. 1) The longest constellation is Hydra, the Sea Monster.  I think it has 48 or 50 stars.

    2) A transit of Venus across the Sun takes place when the planet Venus passes directly between the Sun and Earth, obscuring a small portion of the Sun's disk. During a transit, Venus can be seen from Earth as a small black disk moving across the face of the Sun.  The next one will be on June 6, 2012.

3)Jupiter; is a sweltering 3,700 degrees Fahrenheit (2,040 degrees Celsius)

    4) Proxima Centauri, a small red dwarf companion to the Sun like star Alpha Centauri. It is slightly closer than Alpha Centauri, but Alpha Centauri is sometimes called the closest star and people just mean the whole system by that.

    5)  Because of its smaller size, the Moon's gravity is one-sixth of the Earth's gravity.
