Does anyone love bumble bees?

I happen to adore them for no particular reason. Please tell me I'm not the only one! :)

I have them in my garden, and I planted some wild flowers to encourage them and feed them.  If I am in a garden centre and see a plant covered in bees for sale, I cannot resist it.

They come is all sorts from the little sandy ones to great big furry yellow and black honey monsters.  Sometimes they get drunk and I have to pick one up from the road and find a leaf for the bee to sober up where she won't get eaten by a bird.

Once I recorded the dawn chorus and got this bumble bee flying around the microphones.  I can always tell the difference in sound between a bumble bee, a wasp, a fly and a honey bee.

I have one character who always wanted to be let out, buzzing and banging against the window.  Then an hour or so later, she would find her way back there again.

I often wonder how something so big and fat and furry ever manages to take off!

I love bumble bee's, they are so good for the flower bed's. That and they are just so fun to watch, I saw this giant bumble he was covered with pollen, globs of it stuck all over his little furry body.

They also look like you should be able to reach out and pet them.

Who says you need to have a reason to like something? I like angler fish and other deep sea animals, they are so ugly that I think they are cute.  :-)
