I want a TV converter box w/out remote. Simply receive digital signal and transmit analog signal to TV set. Is ther such a box? Ones i have seen have remote that changes channel to TV. This requires a converter box for each TV set,. Not what I want.

  1. I'm not sure what the remote has to do with anything. The converter box is a digital tuner. It can only output one channel at a time to analog.

I think your only solutions are:

One converter box per TV, which you don't seem to like. The first two boxes should only cost you around $20 each with the govt coupons.

Get HDTVs. Then each TV has a built in tuner that gets all the digital channels. Expensive - $500 - infinity for an HDTV.

What you seem to want is a box that decodes ALL the digital channels to analog and sends them over the coax, so that any set can get them. As far as I know, no such box exists. If it did, it would be ungodly expensive.

Converter box per TV seems like your best bet.

  2. All converter boxes only convert one channel at a time. Period.

The only exception would be expensive equipment meant for commercial applications.

If you only want to watch one channel on all the TVs, You could just use a any converter with channel change buttons on it. Then you would just need the remote for setting the converter up.
