I'm only 5'6" I'm capable of handling a 250cc or larger bike but I can only touch with one foot so I'm not confident on them!

  1. You can adjust the suspension but it's not going to make much of a difference and no they do not make lowing kits for dirt bikes you need the pre-load on the dirt bike thats why they are set up the way they are.

I was 5' 6" once too, You just have to get use to using one foot to hold yourself up.

  2. Apart from adjusting the suspension I only know of one other thing you can do to help out and it isn't ideal.  We had much the same problem with our son who was in the age group to ride a 125cc or 250cc but is very slightly built and was only about 5 ft 3 at the time.  His ability was there but his body was letting him down.  We trimmed his seat down a bit and then restapled the cover back to it so it made him an inch or two closer to the ground.

My son would only be 5ft 6 now and has no problems riding both the 125cc or the 250cc but does need a block for the start line so perhaps you could consider just using a block.

As i said the cutting down of the seat did work and there were no regulations (at least where I live) to prevent him being allowed to race with a cut down seat and while it isn't an ideal way to solve the problem it did work till he grew a couple of inches and if you use and electric knife to do the cutting and do it carefully, when you grown you can just put the two pieces back together and restaple the seat cover.

  3. Cutting the seat helps quite a bit. I am only 5'6" as well. I have a cr250 and had to take out quite a bit. At the lowest point I removed about 3". My buddies says it looks like a freestyle seat now! lol   Another thing that would help is to make sure to have the rite springs for your wieght and the kind of riding you do. It will help once the suspension is set up properly.
