Does anyone miss the old BMW Body Style's? ?

Question

Say 1989-1999. Didn't they really start changing the body in 2000?

I wish BMW would go back to the classic, Vintage look.

It actually took me awhile to get used to the new body's - but now I think they're beautiful & nothing drives as fun as a Bimmer :)

I mean I've seen a clean white 1989 535i and it's more gorgeous to me than any other car on the road. I think BMW would be 'smart' to create a 'new' but vintage looking Bimmer.

What do you Bimmer fanatics think?

I totally agree with BMWgods answer above! I can stomach some of the 1990's style though LOL !  Everything made after 1997-1999 looks like an UGLY FORD TAURUS copy.. Shame shame shame...

BMW people with as much experience as me miss the REALLY old BMWs  The e2X's.  They were completely unique and other car company's copied the look is many ways in later years.  Its all personal preference I think any BMW made after the change over years 1988 - say 1991 are ugly plastic wrapped eye sores..

I like the early 90's ones.

I saw a black 5 series with the AC Schnitzer (sp?) package and it looked REAL nice.

The E46 3 series was an architectual masterpiece. It still is though; I find the E46 M3 much more voluptuous than the E92 M3.

I would have to say NO. I have always thought that the older older BMW's were UGLY excpet for the 7 series for some reason.  I never had any desire to ever own one. Granted I have had an1989,1990,and a 1991 5 series. Since I am living in germany they are a dime a dozen and very very easy to come buy. Those were the only reasons I had got them. They were pretty much handed to me for pennies. I am so glad that BMW did away with those older styles. BMW never caught my eye till the E46 M3 came out.
