  1. i dont know how to in the UK, but in the US its anonmyous call rejection, to activate (if its on your account) dial *77. To block you number when making a call is *67


  2. Assuming you are on a regular BT line, the option is not immediately available via a simple service code.

    You would need to contact BT customer services (phone 150 or access via the BT website) and ask for Anonymous Call Reject to be enabled on your line.  Unfortunately, there is a £4 per month extra charge for this option.

    Callers who have withheld their number will receive a message telling them that the number they have called does not accept private calls and that they should call again with their number released.

    This option does NOT block incoming calls where the number is flagged as "unavailable" rather than "withheld" (and thus it won't block operator calls, international calls, calling-card calls etc.).
