  1. I do drive a electric conversion motorcycle. Its a fun machine. pluses are quiet, damned good exceleration, NO POLLUTION. The negative is short range. I am building a series hybrid bike which range will be not an issue. If you are interested in electric vehicles, check out this site, www.evcanada.org.

  2. I use an electric scooter to commute to work, but my primary vehicle is a Prius.

Other than rich people who can afford a Tesla Roadster, you're probably not going to find anyone whose primary car is an EV.  This is because the Roadster is the only long-range high-speed EV currently available, but it costs $98,000.

However, starting around 2009 there will be some more affordable quality EVs.

The plusses are that EVs are extremely environmentally friendly, are very low-maintenance, and extremely quiet.

The minuses are that EVs have relatively short range, no major auto dealers currently produce them, and they're only as environmentally friendly as the power grid which is currently 52% coal.  However, even with the current power grid, EVs emit significantly less greenhouse gases than gas cars and even hybrids.
