Does anyone on here have a hedgehog or ferret in california?

i wna tone so tell me is it hard knowing its not allowed in california and if u got caught tell me how and what they did to you.

  1. Hi Richard... as you recognize exotics are not legal in the state of California.  They are subject to confiscation and euthanization if caught and the owner of the naiml can be fined with heavy financial penalties.  

    California state is unfortunately one of the most difficult states to own an exotic pet. If any animal becomes ill a veterinarian could lose their licence to perform any medical care.  Something to consider.  


  2. I don't live in CA (I do have ferrets though), but I just wanted to pass this link along to you: http://www.ferretsanonymous.com/rights.h... It explains your rights as a ferret owner in CA (what Fish & Game can and can't do, what happens if they do catch you with a ferret). I don't think it's the smartest idea to get a ferret if you live in CA. Plenty of people do it and don't get caught, but I think it's too much of a risk and the ferret will be the one that gets hurt the most if you do get caught.
