Does anyone on the BBC not have a private education?

Question

Simon Mayo went to the same school as Johnnie Walker, John Peel went to Charterhouse. Is the BBC the last vestige of empire, or is it outdoor relief for the bourgeoisie? Apparently, Nicky (my da' was a terrorist) Campbell is on 300,000 a year and Chris (I'm a fat prat) Moylesssss twice this. I love paying a licence fee to keep the gentry in the manner to which they're accustomed. And the quality is so high!!

I expect quite a few broadcasters didn't go to private schools, but sadly the only way to get a decent education in most parts of England is to go to one. The licence fee represents enormous value for money; for less than £3 per week you get 4 national TV stations catering for all tastes from soap operas to programmes on Art; 5 national radio stations plus 2 digital, broadcasting every type of music, sport, current affairs and speech and drama, and most areas have a local BBC radio station too. Britain through the BBC has the best broadcasting system in the world and all this priceless programming is not interupted by advertising every few minutes..

A few of my friends have worked for the Beeb over the years, and none of them had a private education. Mind you, none of them were working for Radio 4.

Why do you pay a licence fee for the radio? Presumably you are paying for a television licence if you pay at all? The radio hasn't required a licence since 1971.

ask yourself this, why has the BBC just spent £750,000 worth of license payers money on a fast track programme to get ethnic minority groups into management positions when its laying staff off.

for a corporation that is in public hands they are a disgrace,they are just a puppet of the government,they need to sack most of those presenters,and become subscription TV ,then they are more careful who they upset ,and more accountable to the general public.with there off the cuff remarks ,and criticising anything the government disapprove off,as you see i have no time for them ,as me and a lot of my collages went in dispute with the government last year,the BBC were at the front of the bull trial telling lies and half Truth==s to the British public ,,without reply
