Does anyone one know specifically what hand dancing is?

My fiance wants to "hand dance". He is not describing it very well to me and I have looked it up on youtube. Everything I showed him on youtube was very fast and he said it was not what he was talking about. Some sort of slow dance. Anybody tell me more accurately what it is or have a link I can check out?

The 1st answer was right.  Here's the Wikipedia info.  I guess two contestants did it on So You Think You Can Dance.  I put their names in you tube with hand dancing added & videos DID come up but my player is messed up so I couldn't watch them.

I'm guessing you're near the nation's Capital. DC hand dancing is a swing variant. It can be done up tempo, but it looks best at slower speeds around 30-34 bars per minute. Perhaps if you tried YouTube again with "DC hand dancing" it might make a difference?
