  1. h**l yes I do... but I care more about the NHL Canadian teams.... lol

  2. As a follower of both leagues I would have to say that the CFL will not go anywhere. First of all it has been around for like 100 years (far longer than the great NFL). Which means there is numerous generations of long time fans supporting the league (which overall attendance was way up this year).

People in Canada generally DO support the CFL, with the possible exceptions of Toronto and BC (when they are not winning).

I don't think the league would fold either if there was an NFL team in Toronto. Sure the media would like to keep preaching their doomsday speeches but only because they cater to Toronto anyway. If the CFL team left T.O. and moved to the maritimes, it would probably get supported better than it is now anyway.

As I said I love both leagues and support both leagues but they are different games. I appreciate the differences but keep the CFL Canadian and the NFL American!

  3. CFL is by far the better of the two games. Although the talent pool may be weaker, at least a team cannot run out the clock with half a quarter to play.

NFL 4th quarters pale in comparrison to CFL 4th quarters. Stop the clock already!

  4. You know why people outside the Center of the Universe there in T.O. hate you guys...there's your answer. I'll see you in Arrrrrrgos h**l as 50,000 CFL fans show up on Sunday here in Vancouver to watch the Western Final.

I hope you do get an NFL team in TO and it ends up being like the Bungles or Aints or any long-term loser in the NFL. You deserve that you Make Belief losers.

  5. Then can someone explain to me how in the world do CFL teams fold...and get suspended for financial instability.

How can Canadians possibly not be able to support Hockey clubs enough so that they move to the US? Phoenix my dear lord! They don't even have snow there.

When it comes down to it, Canadians care about the Leafs and the Habs, and everything else is all just filler. So no. You don't care and the NFL will lobby your Parliament eventually with enough money and get the NFL expanded into Canada where, in the future, more teams will move back to the US because you guys really don't support your teams.

Oh, and I looked at your wikipedia link and it says the CFL has a 19% following among adult males while the NFL has 13%. That's not exactly "far, far" if I get my math correct. That's right, a league that has NO teams stationed on your soil or even playing there has 70% as much support as your own league. Tsk tsk.

  6. The NFL will never be able to come to Canada. As long as there is a CFL, the NFL is not a monopoly.

  7. I care about the CFL.

If you think that Toronto will get a NFL team you are on drugs.

L.A. doesn't have a team yet, Las Vegas doesn't have a team. The outcry if a team is given to Canada before major US market would be deafening.

The Rogers Center is too small to have a NFL team, the ticket price would be out of this world.  The average Joe would never see a game. (Like the Leafs) Dallas is building a 100,000 seat stadium, that will become the norm in the NFL soon.

Dream on while I enjoy affordable quality football CFL style.

  8. Why are there so many questions showing a total lack of support for Canadian athletes by fellow Canadians.  Do these question askers have an inferiority complex about being Canadian???  Now to answer your question - I not only care about the CFL but I also wholeheartedly support Canada and Canadian athletes, artists, businessmen and anything else Canadian that you can think of!!!!  It is time some of you forget these Pro-American ideologies and start supporting Canadians!!!!

  9. You never appreciate things until you lose them.

CFL is a big deal across Canada.  If the NFL destroys our national league, it will be one more nail in the coffin of independence.

It will lead to our joining the USA!

They have the NHL headquartered in NY and stonewalling against more Canadian franchises.

Even Toronto won't care if their NFL team is bad, and you can bet Canada will not jump on the band-wagon of a lone Toronto team that's a laughing stock to America.

  10. The answer is YES.  Far, far more people care about the CFL in Canada than the NFL.  In fact, the CFL dominates TV ratings and is second only to the NHL in popularity in Canada.

There are those in Toronto who are oblivious to what others like however, and this is why some believe the NFL is more popular.  Nothing could be further from the truth; of all sports viewers in the country, Canadians prefer the CFL over the NFL 19% to 13.

  11. I do, If the NFL wants expansion they can consolidate with the CFL.

Like Keep 5 teams in  British Columbia, Alberta, Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg and Saskatchewan and move two CFL Teams one to Los Angeles, the other to San Antonio.

    Just a Taught.

  12. Hi I'm Larry and I care about the CFL and So does my brother Darryl and my other brother Darrell.

The NFL will never come to Canada until the CFL is dead.  Under an act of parliament many, many years ago, the CFL and any pro football team must have a minimum number of Canadians on their roster/in their employ to operate in this country.

CFL fans enjoy the Canadian game and think that the No Fun League is overhyped, dull football in comparison.  It's neatly packaged and sold to an audience of numbskulls.  The CFL is action, wild finishes and high scores.

  13. honestly ive never even heard of it.

  14. Yes we do care about the CFL. It has Canadian history. WE do not want to burn all of our Canadian bridges and become another US state. I am from Ottawa originally and unfortunately we do not have a team in the CFL anymore. One of the founding teams of the CFL.....KEEP THE CFL.

  15. You think the NFL in Toronto would be much different?

The CFL game is a better game in my opinion.  I will give that, due to the money involved, the NFL has more talent.

The problem in Toronto is the atmosphere more than anything else.  Were the Bills to move here, it would likely be pretty good for a few years, no doubt...but similar to the Blue Jays and Raptors the city would start to lose interest in the long run.

Toronto is not a sports town.  It is not even a hockey town.  This is a Maple Leaf town and all other sports dim in comparison when Joe Consumer is dipping into his pocket for sports entertainment.

  16. Does anyone out there actually care about dirtnaggle?

i say drop him on his pointy little head and get us another poster with brains.....YEAH YEAH!!!!

Toronto isn't the centre of the universe.  You should have realized that when you realized it was the only city in Canada that wanted to call in the army to clear snow.

I guess you didn't notice that Saskatchewan sold 28,800 tickets for the playoff semi-final in 30 minutes, and could have sold 10,000 more if the seats were available.

  17. The CFL consolidating with the NFL has less chance of happening than an NFL team moving to Toronto.  And show me a Maritime city that'll draw over 30,000 fans a game for CFL football.  I won't believe it till I see it.

Not all Torontonians are stupid, you know.  Some of us weren't raised here. ;)

  18. I agree with Puck Dat.  Being an American and growing up watching both (uncle played for the Stamps, then the old Ottawa team), the CFL definitely has its merits. The NFL is somewhat predictable, though sometimes games are exciting, such as when my Steelers pulled off a last minute victory over the Browns last week. But games like that are few and far between anymore. Also, frankly, I am SICK OF NEW ENGLAND.

Anyway, the CFL has just as much talent as the NFL, but because there are more teams and there is more money in the NFL, they will get the highest caliber of talent overall. The CFL is a great league, but they need to clean up the commish (or league prez, whatever my Canadian friends call him) and get him out of Wally Buono's bedroom!!!!!

  19. Not since Doug Flutie left
