Does anyone own a hedge hog? thinking about getting one but a girl i know said all they do is is bite

and whenever she would pick hers up it would c**p on her every time

but i looked it up online and only heard positive things about them,so

if any of u own one can u tell me ur experience with them

I work at a pet store and we get hedge hogs in sometimes and they are not my favorite pet there. All they do is sleep and if you go near them they will hiss and curl up in a ball, im guessing they are scared but they don't do much and they are alot of money. I knew someone who did have a hedge hog though and she loved it so i guess it all depends where you get it from. If you do get one i would suggest trying to get it from a place where they handle them alot so then at least you can hold it and it might be friendlier.

I wouldn't get a hedgehog for the sole fact that they aren't a domesticated animal.  They are still wild animals, even though they've been accepted as "pets."  This could be the reason why your friend has a 'hog that bites.  I would go with another small animal such as a rabbit, hampster, gerbil, guinea pig, or cat.  Good luck on whatever you choose.

i used to own a hedge hog and it was really nice to me but it had some kind of problem it just stopped eating and drinking and it died :( nothing i could do but if u get one i hope it doesn't happen to u she probably just has a moody one

One of my friends has hedgehogs. all of hers are nice and don't bite or anything like that, but she held them alot when they were babies and socialized them. so if you do get one i wouldn't get one at a pet store for your first one. Find someone who has bred them and handled them a lot so you don't have to worry about doing it yourself.
