  1. We're not part of NVA, but we have used K12 for five years.  We've always used it as independent HS'ers, not as part of a virtual school.

The K12 curriculum is FANTASTIC!  It must be, or I probably wouldn't have stuck with it this long.

There is a Yahoo Group for the school:

    http://groups.yahoo.com/group/K12NevadaV...

I would join there and ask for input.  The school is new this year, so I doubt you'll find many on here with experience with NVA.  There are quite a few K12 VA users on here from around the country, and the schools may be similar.

  2. 2 of my boys are enrolled in OHVA, Ohio's K12 virtual academy.  The curriculum is very good, if not overwhelming at times.  I have found there is a lot of support from the school and also from parent groups.  Because it is a public school, there is no tuition and they send you all of the books that you will need.  They will also supply you with a computer and printer and reimburse you a set amount for your internet connection.  I'm not sure what grade(s) you are interested in, but I do know that up until about 7th grade, most of the work is done offline.  Through middle school, about 30% is done online, and then in high school, students will spend a lot of time at their computer.  I hope this helps!
