Does anyone play Risk competitively? I am looking for some serious strategies to win at a tournament.?

I am not an expert at this game, but for some reason my school has this tournament going on with a cash prize that I could use to help pay my tuition. Any advice would be great!

game sucks too much for me to play ever, let alone competitively.  sorry.

Try to secure one of the small continents early, South America or Australia, because they are easy to defend and are a source of extra armies.

Every turn you must attack and win at least one territory, you must make sure to always get cards, you get extra armies later with them.

When all looks good & your opponets are week from beating each other up, go for entire continents.
