  1. You will need:

    225g wholewheat flour

    1 teaspoon salt

    200ml water

    Method:

    1) Place flour and salt in a bowl and make a well in the centre.

    2) Gradually stir in water.

    3) Work into a soft supple dough.

    4) Knead for 10 minutes

    5) Cover and leave in a cool place for 30 minutes.

    6) Knead again for a few minutes thoroughly and then divide into 12 peices.

    7) Roll out each piece on a floured surface until it is like a thin round pancake.

    8) Lightly grease a heavy bottomed pan and fry each chapati with a moderate heat until blisters appear.  Turn and repeat for other side.

    9) Brush with melted before serving warm.

(You can also use a mixture of white and wholemeal flour, barley millet, maize or chickpea flour)

Can't help with the sauce, chapatis are the staple bread of India and (just as we eat bread in the West) its eaten with a vast variety of other foods.

  2. why dont you google it?...................

  3. CHapatis are about the easiest thing in the world to make.  Its just flour water and salt I think, roll it out super thin and cook it on a medium dry pan.  Super easy and super good.
