  1. Only an absolute fool would fail to question that.

After he was told the country was under attack, why did he stay there like a sitting duck?  How did they know the President wasn't being targeted for another attack?

Hopefully someone who can recite accurately what the proper protocol is can weigh in here.  It certainly doesn't call for the President to remain a sitting duck when the country is under attack.

  2. And exactly what should he have done in that situation?

He did what a leader is supposed to do.  He waited while his subordinates gathered information and could give him an intelligent briefing on the situation.

One of the major rules I followed once I became a senior NCO was to _walk_ towards an emergency.  This gave the junior people already there time to sort things out and get the initial response in motion before being distracted answering my questions.

  3. Yes, when ALL the normal protocols are ignored you KNOW there's something very, very wrong!!

... though some gormless 'senior NCO's' would no doubt STILL reach for their glasses if Bush had a 6 foot neon sign saying 'guilty as charged' over his head.

... you can lead an oaf to water, but you can't make him think apparently!

  4. What did you want him to do, duck into the nearest telephone booth, switch into his leotards and cape and fly to the rescue?

He did exactly what he should have done, absorb the information given to him, maintain his decorum, finish the task at hand, then leave in an orderly fashion to manage the country.

Edit:  Well Einstein, since the first reports were not of a terrorist attack, but of an aircraft accident, I suppose then he should have used his ESP to divine the fact that there were 3 more hijacked airliners en route to their targets, THEN duck into the nearest telephone booth, switch into his leotards and cape and fly to the rescue.

People like you amaze me with your utter inability to think critically.  Unfortunately, the laws of this country still give you the rights to vote like real adults.  It's a shame, sometimes.

  5. The inaction makes sense only if they knew what was happening and knew they were not a target. Otherwise, he would have been whisked away immediately. I find it hilarious when people cling to the old "they didn't want to scare the children" explanation, possibly the lamest excuse in the history of the world, especially when you consider the lengths the Bush administration has gone to frighten the entire country. Plus, they couldn't have just said "We're sorry, but the president has some very important presidential business to attend to, so he has to leave." That would have scared the children?

previous poster - Are you serious? Could you be a bigger apologist? What about the fact that the president would have been a prime target in an actual terrorist "surprise attack," especially since his location was publicized?  Your answer is laughable.

  6. Brain, you totally nailed this question. Hey numrod who calls himself thegubmint, are you really stupid enough to listen to such government propaganda bullshit, and then have the nerve to tell others, that they fail to use their critical thinking skills?  Did you even watch that video link he posted?  It is blatently obvious to anyone with more than two braincells to rub together, that when Andrew Card whispered in the "President's" ear that America was under attack, they would have considered the "President" a target, if they had not known perfectly well that he was not a target at all...and they would have wisked him away.  You are one of those people...apparently...who are so indoctrinated into government propaganda that you refuse to question anything they say, and think you therefore know everything, when the truth is that everything you think you know is nothing but lies. That makes you a sheeple, and not a very bright one at that.

    Wake up, Nimrod!
