  1. Hmmm.

And what do you say of the "comfort" of lives of the people who live in low lying areas like Bangladesh?  Maybe you have an "I got mine, who cares about you" mindset.  That's your choice, but if you are a religious person, it should give you cause to stop and reread the passage about "so as you [fail to protect]  the least among them, thus have you [failed to protect] me."

    (Matthew 25:45)

What do you say of the safety and comfort of the unborn -- the children and grandchildren who will be living with the consequences of our conspicuous consumption?

I care.  Sham or not, I'm not willing to bet the future of my grandchildren, nor of yours.

  2. i do

  3. Only if you don't care about what happens to the planet.  Your question really shows what a selfish person might ask.  It's also grounds for a violation notice from the Yahoo rules of conduct. ( Believe me, I know.)  I'm not going to report you but suggest you read the community guidelines.

  4. If you had any idea of the true nature of things, you would be less cavalier in your attitude.

  5. Just a few.

    Most all scientists:

    The general public:

    http://www.worldpublicopinion.org/pipa/a...

    Most all corporate leaders.

And most all world leaders.  But you can choose to ignore them, and follow a few "skeptics" instead.

Just remember this. "Deal with reality or reality will deal with you".

  6. I can recall the Friday nights of my youth when I would drive 100 miles up and down the main drag of town just to impress girls with the fact that I could lay down rubber and loved speed.  I was young and foolish, I loved my car and didn't care much about anyone else other than myself.  You would have liked me, but it was a fairly lonely and unrewarding lifestyle.

Living in the world of today it is easy to see that man's careless use of our natural resources has impacted nature, our general health, and our entire future on this planet.  You can pretend that there is no need to care, but you will feel empty and unhappy with that choice.

Being selfish once again, I feel good about my own efforts to conserve resources, recycle, and help to educate others.  I know that I save a lot of money in the process and help to create jobs for other Americans.  That's what I want to do and it feels good doing it.

  7. Global warming is real, it has everything to do with the sun and is not caused by us.

I say get what you need but don't get stupid about disposal handle trash properly and do not dump everywhere.

  8. As human beings, yes; we have to care. Maybe you are just supposing that most people would just like to comfort themselves with everything they could get their hands to. The reason behind that is they still didn't feel it coming big-time; once they were hit hard on the face, they will come to realize the need for a change of living. Some folks are just more sensitive upon the issue than others.

  9. So many people care about defending the homeland from global warming that the anti-Americans are out in force misleading the public, trying to make them believe that global warming is a sham. You can tell that global warming is bad for America when you see the Republican propaganda machine out in force trying to convince people not to do anything about it.

The more they lie, the more the distort, the more we know that we need to do something.

    Isn't America worth defending?

A spokesman for the Royal Society, Britain's leading scientific academy, said: "At present there is a small minority which is seeking to deliberately confuse the public on the causes of climate change.

"They are often misrepresenting the science, when the reality is that the evidence is getting stronger every day.

"We have reached a point where a failure to take action to reduce carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions would be irresponsible and dangerous."

  10. any proof its a sham? because from what Ive seen there have been no studies disagree with with AGW.

  11. You mean the sham denial that ExxonMobil is promoting through these organizations?

ExxonMobil has profits of nearly $1B/week riding on delaying our knowledge and response.  There is far, far more at stake here than there was with the links between nicotene and addition, smoking and cancer.  The oil industry has learned from that history and is not only using the same tactics, but has been using the same people to shape your understanding of global warming:

  12. I care, and you should too. Global warming is going to affect you eventually and when it does, you will regret this question and statement you made about it!

I guess you aren't concerned with the lives of future generations?
