Question:

Does anyone really drive more carefully when you see a "baby on board" sign on the car in front?

Or does it mean that if someone has a "baby on board" sign they are liable to drive slowly so don't hurry them or nothing?

Or is it just another reason to spend money uselessly on something like a "baby on board" sign invented by someone to make money?

  1. Those are the three most puke-inducing words that man has yet thought of.

  2. The "baby on board" refers to the nut holding the wheel. Most often, no other baby is even in the vehicle.

Some vehicles display "doggie on board" signs.

Just another marketing gimmick aimed at proud parents or doggie lovers.

  3. its just a useless sign that women spend money on because it makes them special. they think<

  4. The original intention of these signs, when they were first introduces was to let emergency personel know that there is another passenger who may not be able to speak for him or herself.  If the adults, in the car, were incapacitated, rescuers would be reminded to keep looking in case the small infant was not readily seen.

Of course, the fallacy of this sign was that drivers did NOT remove the sign when there WAS no baby on board.  Imaging the resuers who were placed in danger, risking thier lives in a dangerous situation, looking for a child that was not there.

  5. I'm pretty sure it's just the parents being proud of their baby, since no one is likely to go 'Oh man, a baby!' and veer into oncoming traffic to avoid a fender bender. :-P
