  1. Most people would say Pit or Metaknight, due to their recoveries, but as a veteran Smasher, I'd recommend (drumroll please) Mario!.

He's really easy to use, and his recovery, while not stellar, gets the job done. Also, he arguably has the strongest smash attacks in the game. His specials are quite easy to understand

    B: fireball, bounces towards enemy

Up+B: Super Jump Punch: Jumps up, harming anybody in his path

Down+B: F.L.U.D.D.: Knock your enemy off the stage, then hose them away as they try to recover. Flawless.

Side+B: Cape: Useful when very high up in the air if you want to travel a distance laterally, but also useful for two more things. Blocking projectiles, and turning your enemies around. The second not sounding too useful? Try using it on somebody about to perform a Final Smash (Ike, Marth, Link, Mario, Metaknight, etc.). If they can't make contact, their Smash is wasted.

Final Smash: Mario Finale: One of the most exciting to watch, the Mario Finale delivers a twisting line of fire in a line across the screen. Try launching one of these midair while on one end of the screen. Triple KO anyone?

Practice a bit, and you'll be undefeated when using Mario.

Also, to improve your reflexes and skill, play on Special Brawl, and turn up the speed. Play. Win. Repeat. Then play online or with friends and notice how slow they seem to be going. It's insanely helpful.

  2. Ike and Pit are the best starters.

  3. Meta Knight has great arguably the best recovery in the game (aside from Pit) so you can get used to recovering. He also has very fast attacks soyou can get that down. Other than that, I used MK when i first started and now he is my best player. Good Brawling!

  4. I'd say pit... he has a reflector, gliding and amzing recovery, an average defense and offense and average final smash, and a projectile! He's amazing for beginners
