I cannot remember for the life of me what the poem is called but it talks about the white rose symbolizing pure love and the red rose symbolizing true love it finishes by saying something along the lines of a white rose edged with pink is the rose of passionate love.

  1. Kelly, sorry, but it does not ring a bell.

    A sonnet of Shakespeare, maybe?

  2. Could it be the poem below?

    The White Rose

    by John Boyle O'Reilly

    The red rose whispers of passion,

    And the white rose breathes of love;

    O, the red rose is a falcon,

    And the white rose is a dove.

    But I send you a cream-white rosebud

    With a flush on its petal tips;

    For the love that is purest and sweetest

    Has a kiss of desire on the lips.
