Does anyone recommend Blue Plus (BlueCross) Insurance over UCare Insurance or vise versa?

Question

My husband and I live in Minnesota and are needing to choose between Blue Plus or U Care for health insurance.

What do you all recommend?

Both my husband and I have major health issues,

He has Psoriasis Arthritis and is currently not able to work. And I have congenital heart disease with a pacemaker.

All of your input would be greatly appreciated.

If you and your husband can qualify for either Blue Cross  Blue Shield or Unicare health insurance you should grab it right away.

I loved, loved, loved Blue Cross!  Great customer services, quick turn around on claims etc.  Much better than any other insurance I have been on (Aetna, HealthPartners etc.)

If you have major health issues (pre-existing conditions) then you may want to first try and determine if you are eligible for a guaranteed issue HIPAA individual health insurance plan (HIPAA plans cover all pre-existing conditions).

This way if you find out that you are eligible for the Federally mandated HIPAA plan then you will be able to choose from any company offering individual health insurance in the State of Minnesota and force them to issue you a plan that complies with the HIPAA laws.

After you compare quotes from a few different companies and do a little research then a good independent health insurance agent familiar with the local plans in MN should be able to point you in the right direction.
