This is the address:

5776 Ebro St., Brgy. Poblacion, Makati City

Where is it near? Is it safe? This place was listed on the website hostelworld.com as being a budget place to stay only costing $28/night.

How about the "Makati Apartelle" at this address?

4411 Montojo Street., near cor. Chino reces ave.

Is this a nice place to stay? Where is it near? Is this one safe? This one only costs $10/night.

  1. makati is so far a safe place to stay, not all parts of Makati though. but there are many foreigners living in that area - expats, koreans, etc. there are many extablishments in that area which are suitable for tourists.

try to email them for more information.

most of us haven't stayed in those places yet, obviously, hehe

  2. Can't make any definitive recommendations, but keep in mind that Makati is hardly a homogenous area.  Both of those places aren't very central, so unless you know someone in the area with a car, you'll be cabbing everywhere.  (There are other transportation options -- ubiquitous jeepneys and buses -- but, good luck with them if you're a newbie.)

In any case, the Philippines is a developing country, and while Makati might be one of the more upscale cities, poverty and slums are pretty pervasive.  So, keep your wits about you, etc., etc.
