  1. depends on what kind of shape it's in,,if it's repairable, then yes, maybe someone -even habatat for humanity,or a local homeless orginization could put it to work..

..here in ohio, with the high humidity, and the ever popular tornadoes, trailer homes can get to where they are not useable, and should be taken apart before some desprate person moves children into a place where mold slithers down the walls,or,if they catch fire,i've seen one burn to the ground in ten minutes..these things are incredibly dangerous,as i have lived in one..

if the roof is tight, and no water damage , i'm shure someone could use it..otherwise,maybe donate it to the local fire department for them to practice rescue operations for people living in them!!?!

  2. My husband and I currently live in Idaho.  However we are moving our farm back to WA in a few months (I grew up in Western Washington).

Mobile homes are on VERY desirable frames.  People can make really great flatbed trailers out of them.

However that said, it is not cheap, nor easy to do.  The mobile home itself must be knocked off the trailer, and then all the bit and pieces cleaned up.

All the insulation, and plastics must be hauled to the dump.  The metals in the mobile home can be recycled.  Taking the insulation, and plastics to the dump in King County is NOT cheap.

Does your mobile home still have the axels, and tires under it? (Hopefully)

If so, advertise it in the Little Nickel, for free.  Someone must come and haul away.  Put in the add if it has the axels and tires, and how long, and how wide the mobile home is.

Make SURE you get them to sign something, that states their name, and date, and that they are taking the mobile to recycle.  That way if they are complete idiots, and haul it to some remote wooded area, knock the mobile off, and drive off with the trailer, you will not be charged by King County for the clean up.

Don't try to charge for the mobile home/trailer.  The amount of work involved with the removal, and recycling of the matterials will not make it worth it to anyone if you try to charge.

  3. Mobile homes are a unique challenge. Often there are used mobile home lots where they will pick up your mobile for free/small fee and resell them at a reduced price. The people who buy them are farmers who use them for their hired help, someone who is building on private property and needs a place to live until their dream home is built, mobile home parks with empty lots (They will bring them up to code and resell), or young people who have limited resources.

  4. You could post some some ads up. . . Many people here do recycle everything to make a few extra bucks, and most all of the materials in a mobile home are reuseable.
