Does anyone recycle?

How many of us are there recycling, or using eco-friendly fun?

Of course!! I wish everyone did.  I live in an area that takes all codes of recycling (the numbers you find on plastic) so pretty much all I use is recycled.  

I admit I do not compost and need to and if I did that my waste would be about 5% for a family of 4...not bad.

50 year old female.  I recycle almost everything.  I have 4 compost containers in my garden.  Recycle plastic, paper, cardboard, glass and metal via the local council depot.  Wood scraps go on my multifuel stove and the ash goes onto the garden.  I usually take a bag with me when I go shopping but if I forget then I ask for a cardboard box from their recycling pile. Most of my neighbours put out three or four bags of rubbish each week whereas I only leave a tiny bit - mostly food packaging that will not recycle.  I find plastics are the hardest things to recycle.

My family of four has one bag of garbage per week.

We recycle glass, plastic, paper, aluminum and cardboard, as well as keeping an active compost pile for our vegetable garden.

And I don't even own a pair of Birkenstock sandals (we're not uber-hippies).

We recycle newspapers, old mail-mix paper, plastics, and the few cans that we get.  The city's recycling center isn't far away, and they make some money from it--as long as the prices are high, at least.

Have a compost heap in the garden but no other recycling facilities nearby. Drive 5 mls to the dump with my empty beer cans and bottles.I`m careful not to buy stuff in the first place so I don`t have to worry about clearing the rubbish.

I recycle about 75% of my waste - paper, plastic, glass, packaging, etc.

I have been collecting food and have created a compost area for my garden.  

I usually put out less than 2 bags of garbage each week for a family of 4.

My whole school recycles, but only at school, our city doesnt recycle... we can only recycle paper though.

In my area, it is about 1/3 of the people who use the local recycling depot. I take ours out weekly.

My family recycles. We recycle aluminum, steel cans, plastic, paper, cardboard and plastic. We can recycle #1 & #2 plastic where I live. I wish they would accept #1-7, or at least #5. Way too many of those go in the garbage.

I do recycle and everyone should, but would you believe that the city of West Frankfort Illinois, has no recycling ordinance. This is a city of 8,000 people. Can you imagine the landfill situation ?

Yep!

We recycle plastic, glass, paper, cans, & plastic store bags.

Currently, I'm trying to figure out were we should make a compost pile.  Alot of times I feel guilty when I'm at work and have to throw things away, and usually end up carring cans & bottles home with me:)
