Does anyone remember Green Shield Stamps?

I've got this vague recollection from my childhood about my grandmother and green shield stamps ?????

  1. Yep - one stamp for every sixpence (2.5p) you spent.  It seemed to take ages to save enough stamps to get a keyring.  Thanks for the memories.

    I collected "Green Shield Stamps" about the time I was married in 1970 and bought baking trays, pyrex dishes and my main purchase, with a load of saving, was a Kenwood Food Mixer. I still have it and use it regularly. Now costs from £150 - £300.00

  7. Blood and sand,I was just mentally transported into my nan's kitchen 35yrs ago,lol.I'd forgot all about them,thanks for the memory.

  9. Yes I can remember them ! Stick them in a Green Shield Stamp Book & about 40 Green Shield Stamps approx. to a page !  

  10. yes and the stamps on hornimans tea plus the coupon in kardov flour the coop divi number their were quite a few  aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh memories

  11. yes I do.  My mother used to collect them and as a child I'd spend ages l*****g them and putting them in the book.  She also collected red stamps too.  The grren ones I'm sure my mum used to get discount on her shopping, especially at xmas time
