It focused more on romance than racing, but still had it's racing moments. I believe it was on FOX. It was set in the south, almost like Dukes of Hazzard meets Nascar meets a nighttime soap opera. It was a "serious" drama, not a comedy. I'm pretty sure it had some cheesy name like "Southern Heat" or something similar with a double meaning. Any guesses?

  1. I never saw it, I had to look it up and this is what I found. It could be  "Fast Track", a 1997 Showtime series set in the world of professional stock car racing. Let me find a link to the show itself and I'll post it here.

Here is a link to it:  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0124239/

  2. Here ya' go:  "Steel Chariots" was on Fox in 1997.  Here's the IMDb link to it:  http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0126078/

    Fast Track was on Showtime.

  3. It was called "Fast Track" starring Keith Carradine. It was about a race track owner with driver death cover-ups and there was some type of love triangle. I saw a few of the episodes and remember one line that Carradine used a few times whenever there were cars on the track. He refered to the sound of the cars as "sweet thunder".
