Does anyone remember a website in US where you can search for information about people for free?

you get information such as they age, past cities they've lived in and the names of their immediate relatives.

  1. I personally think that it is JUST as scary, that people automatically ASSUME that anyone searching for someone, must be a stalker. Maybe more so.

    Genealogy involves tracing family.  Most of the time, they are dead.. but not always. I personally have looked up complete strangers, and picked up the phone to tell them that we are related.. and I have family history to share with them.

    99% of those persons have been completely thrilled that I made the effort.

    Other people are separated, not because of their own choice, but family feuds among their parents or grandparents. With genealogy.. MANY of these persons wonder why anyone ever let these fights destroy their sense of bonding with family.

    Judge not.. lest YE be judged.


  2. If that is the case, then all of us genealogists are stalkers! Haha. No way. You do need to get information to find information when it comes to searching for ancestors.

  7. there are alot of sites but most of them charge. Look up people finder, people search, census..  Yep,,,it's alllll out there for us to find!!!
