Question:

Does anyone remember those (perhaps) Tonka toys where it was sort of mechanical...

the toys lifted things... or it went on tracks... or... there were lots of them... and they all did different things... they were usually on display at toy stores... what were they? where can I get them? this was when I was little, 7-11 years old... 10-12 years ago

  1. They still sell them. My sister in law picked some up at walmart and sams during Christmas last year.

    I've seen a couple at Toys r us during Christmas as well. I think they only carry them twice a year, once at Christmas and once when they start putting out summer stuff.

    They are still called Tonka Toys, and they are still metal. They sell the plastic ones year round, but the metal is seasonal.

    I have also seen them at farmers stores, like John Deere, and Tractor Supply. you can most likely find them there year round.


  2. I remember them, but it was far more then 10 years ago.  They are by now in antique shops and second hand stores.

    You will likely not find them in good repair.

    You can also search ebay.

  3. Tonka Toys were my fav toys growing up. Try Toys"R"Us to buy them.

  5. I remember them. You can purchase them from Toys 'r' us. A huge toystore where toys from even the 70's are still present.

  6. I think your talking about tinker toys or knex you can get both at toys r us
