  1. I'm not allowed to. My parents think its dangerous, which it is. So I just get up around 6 to run

  2. I do sometimes but I prefer the morning. The  problems with running i the dark is visibility and if you live in a dangerous neighborhood.

  3. well ya you can trip on stuff when its really dark.

  4. Most of my weekday running is pre-dawn except in high summer.  I am out the door at 5:30 and right now that means it is dark.  Reflective clothing.  Reflective armband.

Plan out a route with minimum traffic.

I sometimes carry a small flashlight.  As it moves up and down it attracts the oncoming drivers attention and lets him know a runner is on the road.

I also have a strobe light that goes on an arm band.

However, you must presume that the driver doesn't see you.  Keep to the far left of the road.  And always have an escape plan if the vehicle is coming too close.

If you must cross a busy street look left right left.  If there is any doubt about how fast vehicles are coming - don't go.  Early morning drivers tend to speed and are not expecting to see pedestrians.

I like my early morning runs.  There is a small group of early risers in my neighborhood and we all get to know each other.  But do be careful.

  5. It's dangerous, but I do it anyways. I probably will pay someday but I can't pass it up. It is too much fun. It is like adding vareity to your workouts. I have never thought about tripping but the roads I run are illuminated a little. There is one road I run that is completely dark and the fear factor just heightens the run a little.

  6. The main problem is visibility for you and the others. If you wear dark clothes its harder for someone on a bicycle or car to notice you especially if they are speeding. Also you could trip on stuff  and get injured.Prefer the time when the sun needs about half an hour to set.Or prefer a road that has plenty of public night lighting.Have a nice run!

  7. if its EXTREMELY dark, yes, i trip over stuff, so sometimes i've gotta take a flashlight.
