For example, if you point your index finger like a revolver at the vertical edge of a door, do you have trouble keeping both your finger in focus and the door edge in focus at the same time? I do, for some reason. I point my finger and see two fingers and a single edge if I am focusing on the edge, or two edges if I am focusing on the finger. =\

  1. Don't worry ...it sounds  normal.  That is the way the eyes have evolved.  We are only able to focus on one thing at a time.  Our eyes are designed in such away that if you focus on one spot, everything else in your field of vision will become blurry.   You probably don't think its blurry because you have information about things outside of the focus area already and you fill in the missing information so to speak.

Your binocular vision (seeing with two eyes, which allow you to see two fingers) is a repercussion of you having two eyeballs.   each eye see the finger from its own perspective.  The act of focusing is a nice trick where your eyes can eliminate that double vision by positioning themselves just right.  i.e ..You will look crosseyed
