Does anyone speak French?

Question

I would LOVE to speak French! But the only thing is, I need to learn how. If anyone could tell me about a FREE website, that makes learning Frech easy, I would be sooooo greatful!

Honestly, these sites won't perfectly teach you French...but, they can be a good supplement or starting point. If possible, you should enroll in a course with a real teacher or get in contact with a friend/family member that you can speak with in person, yet if that's not likely to happen soon, these should be fine to start you off:

http://www.frenchassistant.com/faq.asp (a pretty good site for review and has quizzes to check your knowledge)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/french/ (this one is probably my favorite because it has audio clips of argot - or slang)

http://french.speak7.com/ (i haven't tried this one yet...but it looks promising!)

Also, a useful tip that I find helps me focus is to play some French music on youtube or to download while using these sites (like Kyo or Superbus). It might give you a better way of recognizing words and improve your accent. Bonne chance et j'espère que ça va bien!

i do. you could try before you know it - just type 'before you know it' in on the yahoo search engine. its a free website that allows you to learn any language.

In Canada they all teach us a little french... so your question should be, do you speak fluent french?  Anyways yes I do speak rather fluently... but I don't use any websites.

Don't use the sites that apparently "translate" large bodies of text... they exclude the proper rules when it comes to pluralizing and dominating verbs, and other words.  It just makes it look like gibberish to us frenchies.
