Question:

Does anyone still believe in Global Warming ? I think that it's “bogus,” and “dreamed up” by environmentalist

There’s no scientific proof that global warming even exists. To be honest, it’s a bogus consensus dreamed up by the Greens because they hate industry. They hate advancement. They hate technology…Greens will lead us back to primitive life.

  1. Global Warming does exist. It was prove several times over by independent groups. However, Al Gore's movie an inconvenient Truth put people into worry.

    And If global warming does not exist, it doesn't hurt to put solar panels up, or walk a bit more, or buy energy efficient cars.

  2. "they hate industry.They hate advancement. They hate technology"

    Whoa- Ad Hominem attack . I think you will find that very incorrect if you meet some.

    Since you are going against consensus you have to provide proof/sources that its "bogus". just saying it alot does not make it true.

  3. Yeah man! Thats right! Its all a hoax to cause civilization to collapse and so give Al Gore the chance to earn loads of cash that he can't spend because no one has anything to sell!! And, while we're at it, lets name some other hoaxs!!!

    1 The moon landing. Completly hollywood.

    2 The holocaust. That many people are IMPOSSIBLE to slaughter.

    3  President Bush. There's no way someone be great enough to detect  the WMDs (in Iraq) that the CIA, FBI, and forces in Iraq continue to failed to.

    4 Dictatorships. No one in history has EVER gone mad with power!

    5 Penguins. Seriously, has anyone that has never been to Antarctica, southern Africa, New Zealand or the Galapagos ever seen one? I rest my case.

    Come on. Just because 98% of scientists and ALL real climatologists that have ACTUALY STUDIED this agree that it's real doesn't mean it's true.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~...
    You realize that this is the view that your mindset takes? Let me ask you, Who is the bigger hippy? : )
  4. Is it hot in here, or is it just me?
  5. Hey, listen closely. Do you hear that sound? No? Well that is the sound of the world moving ahead without you.
  6. Been doing all your own research ,or did you just make all that stuff up? I do not 'believe' in Global Warming at all...I fully understand it! Just because some people can't understand it,doesn't mean it's not happening.
  7. The earth is moving closer and closer to the sun. global warming is just way overrated and overpublicized. There is nothing we can do to stop any of this from happening. What will happen will happen. it is God's plan. first flood, next fire. we just need to enjoy what we have and quit stressing on what could happen.
  8. The IPCC reports document some warming.
    Where we have most of the confusion is that the popular press has exaggerated the amount of the warming.
    People who only read the accounts in the popular press react to those accounts as being false and incorrectly assume all of the science is false as well.
    The professional scientific literature documents some warming, but nothing like the exaggeration and hyperbole of the popular press.
  9. I am amazed and saddened by your question.  There is a mountain of evidence that Global Warming is taking place.  The graph at http://www.epa.gov/climatechange/science...
    seems to be conclusive.  But there is a lot more including the report today about the loss of ice in the Antarctica which had been used as an example of where the climate was not warming. See http://www.nature.com/ngeo/journal/vaop/...
    It is not a question of being against advancement or Technolgy.  Rather it is wanting to understand the world around us and what is happening to it.
    You can argue that although warming is taking place it is not man made but even here the evidence is building against such a position.
  10. what do u mean  'does any1 STILL believe in Global Warming'?? OFCOURSE dey do
    well...every1 except u it seems
    come on man !!
    just coz u WANT to believe sumthing dsnt mean that its true
    sure u believe its "bogus" and "dreamed up" by environmentalist
    but ever thought WHY they would just 'dream up' such a thing? i mean, what would they gain out of it. not like they got a lot of money or anything out of it...infact...it would create quite the opposite effect
    i mean...even if they are Greens they would never just say stuff like
    'oh god i hate that industry. lets make up sumthing to scare the sh*t out of them. dat dey are destroying the earth'
    'i know!! how about we call it 'global warming'...its a pretty hot day today and we could just blame the industry and say its their fault my ice creams melting'
    'sounds gud.'
    and even if there was bogus...i dun think it would be such a popular idea.
    and why would hte Greens want to take us back 2 the primitive life? i dun think they like the idea of wearing leaves and freezing to death because they cant have clothes any more than u do.
    and yes, there is proof. Polar caps melting, water level rising, change in climate (some places having unexpected blizzards or droughts), many species of animals dying (polar bears...major example). there is a scientific explanation for it.
    and u may give a counter argument by saying 'there was the ice age...and it all melted...and that time we didnt have excess greenhouse gases' or 'more polar bears have been spotted'
    but the thing is....sure..the ice age melted and stuff...but over a long looooong period of time...say a 10, 000 years or sumthing at the minimum...however, the change in temperature and the rise in level of water over the past TEN years has been waaaaaaaay more dramatic and drastic !!
    also, we are SPOTTING more animals like polar bears because they are being driven out of their actual homes on the ice caps because they are melting!! so they are moving to other places...and so more humans can see it...dsnt mean that their population has increased
    I also suggest u watch Al Gores 'An Inconvinient truth'...pretty moving
    :D
    but in the end, believe what u want to man !
    but do not say 'what difference will i make anyway' because u will make a difference. u will :)
  11. Don't worry the Global Warming hype will pass. In the '70's they worried about the Ice Age then there is was the hole in the ozone layer panic. People are suckers for scary science.
    Mark my words, by 2015 it will be the Ice Age is coming scare again. Or maybe man made continental drift scare?
  12. Most reputable scientists believe in anthropogenic global warming.
    Since you don't have any argument, I can't really respond to you.
  13. Ha ha ha...thats soooo funny.
    You say "There’s no scientific proof that global warming even exists" ha ha ha, so where is the scientific proof that global warming doesnt exist?? You did not even post a link or mention where you studied to get your degree. How much independant research have you done?
    Large majorities around the world believe that human activity causes global warming and that strong action must be taken, sooner rather than later, in developing as well as developed countries, according to a BBC World Service poll of 22,000 people in 21 countries.
    An average of eight in ten (79%) say that “human activity, including industry and transportation, is a significant cause of climate change.”
    Nine out of ten say that action is necessary to address global warming. A substantial majority (65%) choose the strongest position, saying that “it is necessary to take major steps starting very soon.”
       So you are in the minority my friend. And then you go on to say that the Greens hate advancement, but the whole point of being 'green' is progress, progress to achieve a cleaner world and have less impact on our surroundings than the bull dozer approach that has dragged us this far. And how can we hate technology when we are hoping to improve (with technology) the mileage of cars for example?? I would suggest that the deniers will lead us back to the primitive life that you mention by continuing the way we are going.
  14. I'm sorry, but if you think that way, we won't go back to primitive time, we'll go much farther. We'll go back to hot and baron, and mankind may not exist.
    Global warming IS real. You can look at the Ice caps and see that. Many climate are slowly changing, things ARE getting hotter.
    Besides, even if it doesn't exist, at the rate we're going the pollution could be so hig in a few hundred years we could suffocate. Who cares, if we're all becoming a little greener? Its good! I'd rather live in a healthy enviroment than a hummer filled smoggy heat wave!
  15. Man-made global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are ridiculous, but creationism should be taught in schools.
  16. The earth is roughly 4 and a half billion years old and most of that time it has been cooling.  It sustained life when it was much hotter than it is now.
    I think much of the hype over global warming is either bogus or the product of mass hysteria, but I also think there are some penalties to pollution and mismanagement of the environment.  I don't know how serious they will be.  There are many environmental issues that do deserve our attention.
    In the United States we have done a great deal to clean up the environment.  The serious smog problems in Pittsburgh, for example, have been greatly reduced.  Our greatest pollution problem at this time is automobiles, chiefly because we have so many of them.  Recent models are much cleaner than the predecessors of 20-40 years ago.  Any trends which result in less pollution are good.  We are also doing a much better job of reducing pollution from the burning of coal.
    I do believe, however, that we should be very concerned about many other countries in the world which generate industrial pollution.  China and India are two which immediately come to mind.
    About global warming--I think there has been some exaggeration of its effects and all too much readiness to blame human and particularly U.S. activities for it.  I see no harm in a global reduction of pollution, provided we can maintain a reasonable standard of living as we do it.
    I think many who are alarmed about global warming are genuinely concerned, and I do not rule out the possibility they could be right.  However I remember the hysteria over the suspected impact of nuclear bomb testing on our weather and that turned out to be unfounded.
    So I say keep our civilization, but be responsible.  Be concerned about the environment but turn that concern into genuinely constructive mitigation efforts.  We can all benefit from a cleaner world.
    But I don't think scrapping civilization is a necessary precursor to saving the world.  We have many real problems.  Global warming could actually distract us from solving them.  Let's adopt and practice common sense.  We might be surprised at how well it works.
  17. The proof that global warming exists is there--and conclusive. Claiming otherwise jsut makes you look foolish and ignorant.
    As for te rest---making derogatory statements about people because they disagree with you jsut makes you look even worse.
  18. The global warming isn't real. Scientist just use the global warming to scare us it's effects because our planet is almost dying due to the pollution. Yet we must take care of our planet.
    Earth's warming is a natural thing since the death of the Ice age, for your information this is called "Planetary Evolution".
  19. Does it really matter?  No!!!  All that matters is that the planet is habitable with enough natural resources to get me through my lifetime. Period.
  20. dude is cause of global warming that the polar ice caps collapsed, and people are destroying the earth cause of polution
  21. I completely agree with the gentleman above me. There seems to be something going on (centuries old farms in England suddenly disappearing into the sea for example), but I am not convinced that it's humanity's fault, or at least mostly our fault. That being said, we should probably not pollute as much, for the good of our own health. If India can produce a $2,500 car that goes 50 miles per gallon, I think we can raise our standards a bit. We should not stop all production and go back to the stone ages. Anyone suggesting this, I ask them to stop emitting anything (including buying anything that produced emissions, although producing money causes pollution...) and then try to figure out a way to market it to America. We need to find the balance between economic growth and environmental issues.  In my eyes, this means not spending billions to reduce CO2 emissions to a level that is basically unattainable, but instead spending 1 million to buy mosquito nets to combat malaria (one of the concerns of global warming), or reducing subsidies to oil and gas so that renewable energies can be more economically competitive.
    Also, don't be so judgmental. You are portraying the exact attitudes that make people dislike environmentalists: overly-critical, exaggerations, and sweeping generalizations. Just because it worked for Gore doesn't make it right.
  22. I think it's tragic that people are so wrapped up in this global warming debate they're not seeing the forest for the trees.  We should care about the quality of the air we breathe whether it's causing global warming or not.  Here in the Phoenix area we have several high pollution advisories per month every summer.  Will it have to get to the point where people start dropping dead in the streets before the deniers recognize that we need clean air to survive?
    By the way, there are highly advanced technologies, such as hydrogen fuel cells, that don't pollute, but you want to continue to use 19th-century internal combustion technology.  Who's really standing in the way of progress?
  23. Dude I live in Michigan and it was like 62 degrees a couple of days ago. That is more than enough proof that global warming is real.. i can't believe you think it is made up! Take your political beliefs out of the picture and watch An  Inconvenient Truth or even the Planet Earth series is something amazing to watch. I don't know what area you live in but start paying attention to weather in your area. I promise you Michigan is not the only place experiencing odd weather and it is only going to get worse!
  24. where are you living? it can see year after year that the temperatures are rising. there are more huricanes and weard meteo phenomena. and they are not against industry, thay are agains an irresponsable use of resources: take a SUV who uses 3-4 times more fuel then a small car. how many ppl is willing to renounce to their use and use a small car, like the one used in europe or in japan?  se here how much economy it can be done.
