I believe there are many private parts brokers still in business.  I used to work for one in Anaheim.  this particular private parts broker supplied expendables to Boeing for use on the C-17 production line in Long Beach, CA.  We were also engaged in a lot of stiff competition with other private parts brokers.

As for their quality, some of them sucked.  Some of them were pretty good.  We were about in the middle.  We sucked private parts brokering sometimes, but most of the time we

did not suck private parts brokering.

As for the manufacture of those parts, the majority of it is handled by private parts manufacturers.  By and large they do not suck private parts manufacturing though there was one company in Oklahoma that did.
