Does anyone that live in Dublin (Ireland) have problems with postoffice deliveries?

Thats the 3rd time someone puts a delivery notice in my mailbox from the post office, and i didnt ear my door bell ring for deliver. I have to walk to the next post office to get my packs. Is that normal? And i am not at the bathroom when they came, has someone suggested...

Sometimes they definitly dont ring the bellbecause i saw a postman do that to my neighbour. What even more annoying is once they did ring my bell and i was just coming out of the bathroom. I saw the notice and ran down and opened the door the man was geeting into his van at the end of my drive and i waved at him he saw me but kept writing on something. I figured he didnt want to walk back up the drive carrying th package(even though its a regular one car size drive and the package was an internet router from eircom it wasnt heavy or anything) so i started to walk to the vanto save him the bother and he looked at me and still drive off. I couldnt believe it. My regualr postman is so nice its the guy who drives the parcel van hes awful. I complained about it. I was so mad.

Yeah, that's because they don't ring the bell, they just put the notice in the letter box, and then you have to wait till the next day to pick it up.  I should add I know its not because I don't hear the door bell because my dog barks when someone rings the door bell.

I asked why once, and I think its because the post man can't be bothered carrying the package around with him.

Or at least the ones in Lucan don't bother. Drives me mad at times.
