Does anyone think it is stupid to have a bonfire in your back yard? in the city? in a house you rent?

um not in the country we have them all the time in the city just keep it kinda small and controlled. IN a house we that is STUPID!

How big of a bonfire?

40 foot flames would be pretty stupid.

But a small contained outdoor fire is lots of fun, nothing stupid about it.

A bonfire is great.  It's a great way to hang out, outside when it's slightly chilly and there's food on the grill.  Nothing like it.

In many places it is illegal.

People used to do it as a matter of course, though.

You need to get out of the city.  A small fire, some beer, good food, and friends makes a great evening.

YOU NEED A PERMIT AND A SCREENED COVER FOR THE TOP OF THE BARREL WHEN YOU BURN, SO YOU DONT START OTHER HOMES ON FIRE.

I don't think it's stupid, but there are usually laws that prohibit bonfires in residential areas.  Plus if it is a rental and the landlord finds out, you may be in big trouble.

Bonfires are fun, but not very safe in your yard.
