Well, as the person before me mentioned, in most jurisdictions it is illegal.

As far as my opinion is concerned let me explain this way.  Being 17, I am guessing the individual is in High School.  The other, being 22, is clearly not.  This is problematic in regard to perception of self in relation to the world and responsibility.  For instance, a 22 year in is in most cases cognizant of self preservation (i.e. supporting one's selfentirely).  A high schooler (even with a part time job) is not.  This is an example of one of many way the average teenager is not cognitively compatible with a young ADULT.  As a result, yes, I believe a 22 yr old being involved with a 17 year old is inappropriate in regard to age and maturity.  This reasoning is one of a multitude of concepts taken into consideration when state and local governments deem such relationships as unlawful

The law does. 22yr old will be jailed and labeled as a s*x offender for the rest of his or her life.. Law enforcement people are making careers out of jailing these "offenders", both male and female.
