Question:

Does anyone think like I do.?

I feel that cars are way too expensive. I think for every $100 the vehicle costs, it should last for one year. Like if you buy a $5000 vehicle, it should last for at least 50 years. I am looking into buying another vehicle, but they are just so expensive. I am looking at vehicles that cost $1000 or less, and they always need work, if I am going to pay that much money, the vehicle should be perfect with no problems and low miles. Not everybody is rich, I only make around $550 a week, and I only have around $400 a week extra(after bills). I can't buy a car that costs more than what I make in a week, that is just stupid. Does it make anyone else mad how expensive cars are.

  1. While your thinking may not be realistic > a car costing $5K  will only last 50 years if you never drive it, the Yugo comes readily to mind >>the value of an automobile is based upon several factors, which all contribute to cost>>

    • the price of materials

    • labor costs

    • profit for the manufacturer, and dealership

    • promotional costs

    • transportation costs to get the car from the factory to the dealer.

    • additional costs for government mandated safety & emission add ons

If you have $400 extra per week after bills are paid, you can buy a new car > I only pay $280 a month for my Chevy Cobalt.

  2. It is the ways of the world and the signs of the times.  It is rediculous, I agree.  But if you want a car, this is the price!  A bike is cheaper to travel and to maintain.  No Gas to buy!  No insurance!  No driver's license either!!   And it is better for your health.

Trouble is, if you want the better jobs you must move where it is too expensive to live or-  commute.  This leaves little room for the little guy, trying to make it!

Try used cars.  Sometimes you will get a good one.
