  1. Governor Pailn spent a number of years on the Alaska gas and Oil Commission; she is an expert of refineries and pipe lines. I think that is exactly what Washington needs.

  2. It could seem so, but she's got the credentials.  She tackled corruption amongst her own party in her state in order to become its governor.  She must be doing something right, her approval rating is near 90% (that's unheard of).

  3. No more than Joe Biden.

  4. duh!!!!!!!!!!!! that is the whole point to take votes away from the dems. that is the world of politics. go sarah, get er done !

  5. Yes. It makes McCain look desperate. It is out of character for McCain to pick a Woman. Also, being popular in Alaska is no great thing, it is a tiny state as far as population is concerned.

  6. Looks like to me the GOP is trying to pull a BS move and show that they are a more diverse and open party now.  I am sure a woman VP will go over great in the Old White Man's Club.  Lets all remember that this is a group of people that would never vote for woman president.  Now if McCain kicks the bucket in office they will be stuck with one.  The presidential election has become nothing more than a joke and ranks right up there with american idol.

  7. I don't. She will be a voice for many women that feel disassociated from politics in general...not to mention so many other issues.

  8. I could care less but don't think this will get Hillary's supportors votes, just because he picked a woman as VP

  9. No, she has the experience for the position. Also McCin said it wouldn't people politics as usual with his administration. I think he proved that today.

  10. Oh, I'd say that at least 1/4 of Queen Hillary the Great's female supporters don't think so; put THAT in your pipe and smoke it!

  11. I just think it’s very strategic. If he wins and dies then you have someone younger to take over that would still make history as the first woman president. Also, I think he might be trying to say to voters that if Obama won’t pick a woman I will. I think the fact that she’s pretty plays a major part in it to because if he would have picked an ugly woman it would have been over for him. I know that comes across as vain for saying it, but it’s the truth. Last, I think it evens the playing field. Young and Old, Experience and Not Experience. I am a supporter for Obama, but I think this was a very good strategic move.

  12. LOL.  Send in your cell phone number and we will text you FIRST before anyone else knows who Barack picks as his VP.  Wow.  Now with a database of zillions of cell phone numbers the Obama campain can text text text anytime.

That was truly a gimmick.  McCain's handling of the VP is nothing compared to the texting joke - 3 AM Eastern time???

  13. IMO, he has just upstaged his opponent. Welcome, VP-2-B Palin!

  14. I thought from the beginning that Obama and Hillary were gimmicky - seemed like they kept getting media attention because of their DNA instead of their beliefs, and that simply pushed them to the front of Dem voters' minds, which is why it ended up being a race between the two of them.

Yes, McCain's choice may be reflective of the times and circumstances that have occurred on the Dem side, but it doesn't mean she isn't qualified.

  15. A month ago....maybe....

but the Joe Biden pick definitely left McCain's choices wide open...Biden is an "insider" and he is an obvious "balance" pick to make up for Obama's shortcomings...

If Obama were really about "change" then Kathleen Sebelius (a legitimate future Presidential nominee) was out there...

If the Palin pick is true.  I think it emphasizes the fact that the "show" is now over....we've entered the "working" portion of the contest...

  16. i think the black dude has been the Left's gimmick

  17. Yes, but the best part is that he has conceded Obama is more than ready to be President with this VP choice.

  18. Yes.  Bush & Quayle is about the same situation.  Just don't know if she is smarter.

  19. No, it's smart in the true Maverick style of McCain.  She has the guts to take over if necessary.  She has more experience than Obama and none of the baggage he has.  She complements the ticket perfectly and doesn't have to teach McCain anything, like Biden has to teach Obama everything.

McCain/Palin is no Bush/Cheney duplicate.  Talk about change!!  This is exactly what the country needs.  Bi-partisan McCain with a VP (Sarah the Baracuda) they call her - who brings a perfect balance.

Obama's in big trouble, as if he wasn't already!  The Republican, Independent, and Hillary Democrat 'revenge' voters will be totally united....an unstoppable force.

  20. Yep trying to pull the Hillary voters but it's DOOMED to failure, Senator McCain thanks for assuring your defeat in November

  21. And a first term senator isn't gimmicky?  Most of Obama's supporters only know that he's black and he's running for president.

  22. I think it shows good strategic brain power on McCains part.
