Question:

Does anyone think the Detroit Lions will do better than the 7-9 SI predicts?

I am a diehard fan and have faith in them every year, but they usually let me down. But I honestly think they will have a winning season this year. I think of once they had a decent draft and actually look good out there.

What do you think?

  1. 7-9 is generous.  I'd say 5-11 is more likely.  They MIGHT finish above the Bears.

  2. no, i feel they will be lucky to hit 6-10.  7-9 would be a good season this year...  have you seen their schedule?

    sorry

  3. ya they'll be around 7-9...but what I don't get is why they think the Titans will be better than the Texans...the Titans suck and the Texans are a young and rising team probably going 8-8 or 9-7 while the Titans will be lucky to go 7-9...

    for the most part you can never tell what a team will do...just look at the Browns last year...they said they would be lucky to win 3 games and look 10-6...now they say 7-9 and they've only gotten better...they don't know what they're talking about...

  4. They will probably let us down this year again. But the only reason they are doing well in the preseason is that no one else tries hard durning them except the Lions :(

  5. No...... Packers and Vikings are both going to be at the top of the division

  6. As a fellow Detroiter, I can only hope, but with with the Lions I have learned not to get my hopes up...

  7. Remember Kitna say he will lead THEM TO 10 WIN???

    IT WON'T HAPPEN

    Viking 13-3- WILL WIN DIVISION- T-JACK GETTING BETTER DURING PRESEASON

    Packer 10-6 Rodger is pretty good

    Lion 7-9 Simliar to Last year

    Bear- 5-11 No good QB and WR

    ThepoosypunishA- Colts, and Jag are good, BUT TENNESSE AND HOUSTON WILL LOSE TO ALL NFC NORTH

    LET ME SEE LION SCHEDULE

    @Atlanta Falcon-W

    GB-L

    @SF-W

    BEAR L

    @VIKINGS-L

    @HOUSTON-W

    REDSKINS-L

    @BEAR-L

    JAK-L

    @PANTHERS-L

    TB-L

    TITIAN-W

    Viking-L

    @Colts-L

    NO Saints- L

    @GB-L

    4-7 WINS

    12-9 LOSE  SORRY

  8. h**l no...are you kidding me?...their out of conference schedule is brutal....the NFC north plays the AFC south this year...the AFC south is the strongest division in the NFL with (my) Jags, the Colts, the Titans, and the Texans.....the worst of which is a year in-year out .500 team...not just the lions...but the whole NFC north is going to get a pummeling.......

  9. Nope.

    They didn't really improve the poor secondary.  The OL still sucks and the only improvement in the running game is actually trying to run the ball.  Tatum Bell isn't the answer though.

    Have you seen their schedule?  They play the AFC South.  Indy, Jacksonville, Tennessee, and Texas are all much better teams.  They wont beat Green Bay or Minnesota either.  That's gonna be 6 losses right there minimum.

    The Packers return almost the same team as last year with a new QB so they don't need anything from Rodgers except don't lose the game.  The Vikings will run all over the Lions too.  They will battle it out with Chicago for 3rd.

  10. WOW! Another die-hard Lions fan!!!!

    I'm always an optimist when it comes to the Lions each year and most of the time I get bashed for it and rightly deserve it. However, this year we have a pretty weak schedule and if we continue to play the way we've been playing in the pre-season and remain injury free throughout the entire season then I see no reason why this team couldn't finish 11-5. Honestly.

  11. I believe that they have been doing much better and will be very successful this time around. I am also a fan... I am from the D and I love it!

  12. 7-9 is being awful generous

  13. nope maybe 5 wins eagles are winning the super bowl ok listen to me

  14. It all depends on Kitna, but I think 8 and 8 at best with that schedule. NO playoffs yet again...

  15. I think they can win these games if they play well.

    at Atlanta

    at San Francisco

    at Houston

    Chicago ( Possible sweep )

    Tampa Bay

    And possible splits with Minnesota and Green Bay.

    I think SI could be on the money this year. ( 8-8 or 7-9 )

    In any case you keep the faith because anything can happen during the season.

  16. Us Michiganders never learn.  Either way, it'll be interesting.  Fortunately, I'm a Packer fan....no, not a Brett Favre fan, a Packer fan.
